Are You Short of Cash for Christmas Shopping?

Posted on

Christmas might be a magical time of year, but it can also be a stressful time if you are short on cash. After all, you probably want to buy your family members and friends gifts. Even if they would understand that you are going through financial difficulties, you maybe don't even want them to know that. From selling any gold jewelry and gold coins you might have to being a smart shopper, here are some things that might help you when you are short on cash for Christmas shopping.

Sell Gold

One way to obtain the money you want for Christmas shopping is to sell gold items. Perhaps you have a collection of gold coins that your parents or grandparents gave you for each birthday as you were growing up. While that collection might mean something special for you, it is certainly possible that part of the reason the coins were given to you in the first place is so you would have a nest egg for times in the future when you would need extra money. Or, you might have gold jewelry that you are willing to part with. For example, you might have inherited heavy gold jewelry that you don't feel comfortable wearing. It just makes sense to sell that jewelry for cash so that you'll have the funds to do the Christmas shopping you have planned to do.

Make sure you do your research into different gold buyers to see who is the most reputable, because that is the best way to ensure you get a fair price for your items.

Shop Smart

Once you have sold your gold coins or your gold jewelry, you may still be closely watching how much you spend on Christmas gifts. Think of shopping for unique gifts at places like resale shops, thrift stores, antique shops, and even at fancy boutiques that might have great sales during the Christmas holidays. Another idea is to buy presents at a pawn shop. Have you ever even been inside a pawn shop before? If not, you'll probably be surprised at the variety of items that are sold there. For example, if somebody on your Christmas list is a golfer, you might be able to find a great golf club to add to his or her collection. Has somebody on your Christmas list hinted that he or she would love to own a bowling ball? If that's the case, you can probably find a bowling ball that is in good condition.
